 Working with Contractors to Modify Your Home
7/8/2020- Aging in Place 2020 Webinars | Andy Martin and GT Karr with the Greater Iowa City Area Home Builders Association will be presenting tips on how to find and qualify a contractor for your future construction and remodeling projects. They will discuss what to ask, best practices when looking to hire, and expectations clients should have of their contractors for the best experience. They will cover making sure the contractor is licensed and insured, why contracts and payment schedules are important, talk about using change orders and other ways to ensure that you are getting a quality, dependable, professional contractor. They will also touch on easy and affordable aging in place measures.

Starting to Declutter                          6/10/2020- Aging in Place 2020 Webinars | The emotional process when starting to declutter can be a stopping point for some. Learn ways to make this much easier and to understand why it is so hard.

COVID-19: Facts, Myths & Resources     5/20/2020- Aging in Place 2020 Webinars | Sam Jarvis from Johnson County Public Health will be providing the latest on COVID-19 and dispelling myths. Harrison March from the Heritage Area Agency on Aging, Gerald Rath from Access 2 Independence and Jeff Kellbach from Johnson County Social Services will discuss available resources during the pandemic.

Public Access Television and The University of Iowa collaborated with Johnson County Livable Community to produce a promotional video. A group of students from UI’s Communication Studies, Media, and Democracy class collaborated with JCLC's Communications Committee to come up with a 30-second Public Service Announcement which was shot and edited at PATV studios. Two local actresses, Jody Hovland and Carrie Houchins-Witt, volunteered their talents to this project. Share our PSA with your friends!
